I was traveling to New Jersey and I had to catch Uber from the airport, because everyone had to work. So like I normally do when I take Uber I started talking to the driver about how he liked working for Uber. Well he went on to tell me his story of losing his job and just trying to see how he could make Uber work for him because he wanted to go back to school. So sometimes I just can't help myself when I see people in pain. As the conversation continued I could sense that he was in pain. He had lost his job. Get this, a job that he had grown to hate. He had lost his house to foreclosure and he has a family with 4 children. I asked him what was he going to do and he said I'm not sure, but I think I want to go back to school. What will you study I asked and he said he was not sure. As our conversation continued and I continued to ask probing questions which I did to help him get some clarity about the next phase of his life. I discovered that he was really interested in the finance industry, but he wanted to be his own boss. Well I had to tell him about my company FES (Financial Education Services), but I also gave him an option by telling him about Primerica. He asked me a lot of questions and I told him all that I knew about each company. I told him all that I knew about network marketing which he really did not know much at all about the industry.
I also gave him some friendly advice about not listening to people who were going nowhere in their life and how they would try to kill his dream if he decided to get into a network marketing company. I wanted to help him start shifting the way that he thought about things. He told me that he was an introvert and was not sure how he could do this type of business. I assured that he could, but until he got up the confidence I suggested that every time he picked up an Uber passenger and said hey do you do this full time this was the opportunity to share what else he does. This way he could learn more about the rider and offer them advice just like I did him and pass them a business card. He was really keen on this idea, because this took away the fact that he had to approach them cold with his business pitch.
Well needless to say by the time I had reached my destination my Uber driver had a lot to think about. I felt good, because I was able to impart what God has allowed me to learn unto someone else who was probably stuck and did not want to talk anyone about what he was going through. So I shared all of this with you to say if you are stuck talk to someone. You never know what people know or who they know that can help you. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you.
Until Next Time
