Since it was Mother's Day weekend I decided to just relax and catch up on my shows. I have a few shows that I love such as Scandal, Originals & Super Soul Sunday. I know that's a crazy mix, but hey I'm a little crazy myself. Anyway I started out on Saturday scanning Netflix or Fire TV I can't remember which one. When you own a streaming TV network like I do you find yourself owning all kinds of devices. Back to my story, so I was looking for something to watch and came across this original series called Girl Boss which is based on the book about entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso. Now this was a thirteen episode series and I binged and watched the entire season yesterday. I found it really refreshing, because it reminded me when I first became an entrepreneur. I was fearless and nothing could stand in the way of what I was going to accomplish. She started out as an eBay seller, but her site got shut down because of haters. She was upset for a little while, but after some soul searching she started over and learned some really valuable lessons from the launch of her business Vintage Nasty Gal.
You see if you are thinking about starting a business, just know that sometimes shit will go left real quick and you can't spend a whole lot of time crying and complaining. You have got to suck that junk up and get back in the game. My little nephew Jaylen says that all the time " Suck That Junk Up". That's what you got to do. The people that took Sophia down were in survival mode. Their business was suffering and they had to figure out what they needed to do to get back on top and taking Sophia and Nasty Gal was all they could think of. They hatched a plan and it worked, at least for a little while. Nasty Gal came back bigger and stronger than before.
So when someone or something throws a monkey wrench in your business pick your head up off the pillow and start again. This time come back bigger and better than you were before.
If you have not read the book Girl Boss or seen the series check it out on Amazon. You will really enjoy it if you are thinking about starting or growing a business.
